City Files Protest with CPUC Against Tehachapi RTP The City of Chino Hills has filed a protest with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) regarding the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project (RTP) proposed by Southern California Edison (SCE). The protest seeks a more in depth review of potential routes for the transmission lines for the project, including the SCE-selected route through Chino Hills that would cut a five-mile swath through Chino Hills, three miles of which cut directly through residential neighborhoods. Over 1,000 adjacent property owners are within 500 feet of the proposed behemoth towers. SCE’s proposed route follows the path of an existing 150’ SCE easement through residential neighborhoods. We are a group of concerned citizens living in Chino Hills, California who are in favor of alternative sources of energy but who are also opposed to Southern California Edison's plan to install 500,000 volt power transmission lines and towers in our residential neighborhood. We do support alternate routing of these power lines away from our reidential neighborhoods.
