General gathering of concerned citizens to discuss items of interest to our effort to convince Southern California Edison to reconsider the routing of the new 500,000 volt power lines thru our residential neighborhood.  The next meeting will be this Wednesday, May 16th, 7:00 PM at Chuck & Ruth Dickie’s home, 3770 Alder Place. It’s likely to be crowded as our mailing list keeps getting longer, so bring a couple folding chairs if you can. (Has anyone come up with an alternate meeting place yet?)

Visit to Bob Huff -  5/10/07

We had a nice turn-out from our group tonight at Bob Huff's Open House. Everyone is getting the message that there is a group of people who are sincerely concerned about these new lines going through the city of Chino Hills. The Edison guys are even doing things they've never done before. Some of them took a ride in an open vehicle in the Right of Way of some energized lines. They stopped every so often to listen to the noises made by the lines ! There's only one area where there are single poles built and it's out in Romoland. But they are built next to the lattice-type poles and they didn't know which are the energized lines. They are willing to find out for us, if anyone is interested. Our contact is to go through Jerry Silva. There were people from other areas there too so it was very good exposure for us. A lot of the group stayed after Bob Huff was finished speaking to voice concerns to the Edison engineers who were there, to Mr. Rogers -Chino Hills city councilman, and to Ray of SCE and Art who might be filling a political seat in the next election--in which Bob Huff will be running for State Senate. Ray gave us some very good information concerning the complaint letter to the CPUC that we will be writing. He outlined the three things that they will be looking for - that we must include: 1) Public involvement-Public opinion of the project 2) Engineering of the project--costs, restraints, easy routing issues and 3) Environmental impacts of the project-critters, any endangered animals. Valuable information to know.
